Elgaar Farm Organic Bergkäse (Swiss style)
Pronounced “bearg-kay-se” which directly translates to “Mountain Cheese”, Elgaar
Farm’s Bergkäse is our Tasmanian version of the traditional Bavarian “Allgauer Bergkäse”.
The 5kg to 6kg wheels are carefully matured on wooden shelves for six months to
develop the perfect flavour and texture. The perfect table cheese, it is ideal for
toasted sandwiches or grilling, as it melts beautifully. The cheese has a firm body with
small hazelnut-sized holes; and a deliciously sweet, nutty flavour.
SHELF LIFE: Usually at least 3 months from delivery to retailer
INGREDIENTS: Organic Jersey milk, organic culture, sea salt, non-GMO non-animal
derived rennet
